EXHIBITIONS


#AthensUSA #X3 The Georgia Museum of Art almost closes (29 May) the exhibition on printmaker Lou Stovali 'Of Land and Origins'. The exhibit 'In Dialogue: Views of Empire: Grand and Humble' (until august 21) shows lithographs and the exhibit 'Graphic Eloquence: American Modernism on Paper' artworks from the collection of Michael T. Ricker (closes 4 september). Find more information here.

#London The Royal Academy you can go see the exhibit on the 19th century artist Kawanabe Kyōsai, celebrated for his style and humour in woodcut prints: The Israel Goldman collection. It closes 19 June.

#Bremen The Kunsthalle Bremen is presenting a selection of printed works by Hors Antes from the 1960s to the present in the exhibition: Horst Antes: Etchings. In addition to his paintings and sculptures Antes has created an extensive and diverse body of printed works. On show until 19 June.


#Berlin The Gemäldegalerie Berlin opened the exhibit: Fantastic Beasts in Graphic Art from the 15th to the 18th Century. On view until 12 June!


#Wellesley On view until 5 June in The Davis Museum at Wellesley College Massachusetts: Philosophers, Muses, and Gods. The Ancient World in Dutch and Flemish Prints.


#Kansas The exhibition in Wichita, Kansas: The International Block Print Renaissance Then and Now: A Centennial Celebration of Block Prints, is on show until 7 August 2022.


#Houston The exhibition 'Virtual Realities: The Art of Escher, from the Michael S. Sachs Collection, until 5 September 2022, features more than 400 works of art.


#Frankfurt At the Städel Museum you can find the exhibition 'Into the New' with American art on paper from 1945 to the present. On show until 17 July 2022.

Responsible for performing a variety of duties and project assignments related to curatorial functions. This is a full time, one year benefitted project position renewable for a second year. #prize Master Drawings Association stimulates the disseminating knowledge in the field of Western draftsmanship since the Renaissance. Their Ricciardi Prize consists of $5000 for the best new and unpublished article on a drawings topic (of any period) by a scholar under the age of 40. Submissions for the 5th Annual Ricciardi Prize should be submitted by: 15 November 2022.

#cfp #photography The aim of the International Conference 'Photographic Exhibitions in Italy in the 1970s: Spaces, Dialogues, Narratives' is to investigate and analyse the different venues and exhibition projects that showcased the contemporary photographic and visual arts culture in Italy in the 1970s.

It has arguably taken on a new and fundamental characteristic as the way that things emerge in heavily technologized societies. Violence is undoubtedly a determining category of this mode of society. #conf The conference 'Die Fotografie und ihre Institutionen' will address forms and formats, the logic and traditions of the classification, collection, exhibition, conservation, archiving and sale of photographic images from various culture-critical perspectives, taking into account various methodological approaches and practical references. The focus lies on Germany around 1945 as the temporal and geographical framework. It will take place in Essen between 23 and 24 June 2022. Find more information here. You can sign up until 17 June.

#digital The Royal Library of Belgium's (KBR's) collection of Japanese prints has been digitized and can now be consulted online. Click here to find more than 750 prints by Harunobu, Utamaro, Sharaku, Hokusai, and more.


#loan Musea Brugge is entrusted with the administration of 1,920 drawing masterpieces and 25 sketch books by world famous artists like Michelangelo, Jordaens and Boucher. The Jean van Caloen Foundation of the castle estate at Loppem has entrusted the further care and administration of the collection to the Bruges Print Room, with effect from 17 May.
